Essentially a residential community created on the banks of the Allegheny River, Aspinwall is a thriving community that has approximately 2,801 residents (2010 Census). It is located just north of Sharpsburg, and is across the Allegheny River from the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.
- Named after Annie Aspinwall, Henry Warner approached her about purchasing the land and formed the Aspinwall Land Company in 1890. 60 home sites were available, and were purchased by mainly upper-middle class families. It was incorporated as a borough in 1892.
- The small, walkable community is located right next to UPMC St. Margaret and The Waterworks Mall.
- The Aspinwall Riverfront Park and Aspinwall Marina give residents access to the beautiful Allegheny River.
