Braddock Hills Borough
The eastern community of Braddock hills is a suburb of Pittsburgh located 8 miles from the city. With major metropolitan access, it incorporates a great neighborhood that residents say is the best of both worlds.
Braddock Hills has four neighboring communities that border it. Wilkins Township, Forest Hills, North Braddock and Swissvale. It is a 1.0 Square mile and is the sight of General Braddock defeat during the French and Indian war, which took Braddock’s life in 1755.
The area started out as part of Wilkins Township and later became Braddock Township and was settled as part of that area in 1753. Then later became incorporated as Braddock Hills on May 2, 1946 and was known as a coal town. Up until then, the area known as Braddock Township, later to become Braddock Hills, was incorporated with the boroughs of Swissvale, North Braddock and Rankin that border it, until 1885. The other boroughs eventually broke away.
It is part of the Woodland Hills School District as are the other above mentioned areas. If we’ve sparked your interest and you would like to know more go to this website. http://www.braddockhillspa.com/
