Munhall is a borough in Allegheny County, PA. Situated on the west bank of the Monongahela River, 8 miles south of the confluence of the Monongahela and the Allegheny Rivers where the Ohio River begins. It abuts the borough of Homestead.
Sometime before the year 1780, within the borough’s boundaries, the first settler built a house and a barn to begin life in Munhall. It is believed that Sabastian Fredrick was the first to call this place home. Thriving on the hillsides of the Monongahela River, Sabastian was believed to be a self-sufficient farmer and craftsman.
Munhall is a true treasure. Unique for its’ large yards, sidewalks, walking distant library, parks, shopping, entertainment and dining. The community is held together by the heart and soul of the community who reside there. Historical events have brought the community closer. Civil War and World Wars have brought the community closer. The rise and fall of the steel industry has given this town character and the fortitude to move on and be successful.
